Component is not Linked to Ciiva

Parent category: Violations Associated with Components

Default report mode:

This violation occurs when a component placed on a schematic sheet has not come from the Community Vault. In other words, it is not a CircuitMaker component that has been created and associated to a real-world part in the Ciiva database. This is typically the case when a non-CircuitMaker design has been imported into CircuitMaker.

If compiler errors and warnings are enabled for display on the schematic (enabled on the Schematic - Compiler page of the Preferences dialog) an offending object will display a colored squiggle beneath it. A notification is also displayed in the Messages panel in the following format:

Part <PartDesignator> is not linked to Ciiva,

PartDesignator is the designator of the offending part.

Recommendation for Resolution

Search for a suitable replacement component in the Ciiva database, through the Libraries panel. Use the desired version of the Community Vault component that has been created for that part, where one exists. If no CircuitMaker component exists yet, create one. If the desired part doesn't exist in the Ciiva database, you can create your own custom CircuitMaker component.
